Los Angeles, the center of America’s entertainment industry, is filled with dreamers looking to make it big. Actors, dancers, musicians and others seek stardom, while household names like Warner Bros. Records and EA Games search for the next big thing that will ensure their ongoing success. These two groups – the up-and-comers still trying to make it and the “big players” who lead the way – have made L.A. a city of ambition, industry and innovation.

Through the eyes of business journalism students of Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication this project presents the stories of people and organizations, drawn from famous entities such as Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the Los Angeles Times to little-known entertainers such as aspiring ballerinas and Mauricio “The Snake God.”
